Abstract
This design is based on the STC89C52 microcontroller, equipped with multiple functions to enhance the convenience and intelligence of using a hand dryer. In this design, an ultrasonic sensor is employed to detect the distance between the user’s hand and the hand dryer. When the distance is less than the set minimum distance (default at 15cm), the hand dryer automatically starts, providing users with a quick and automated hand drying experience. To ensure resource efficiency and electrical safety, the design sets a maximum usage time (default at 15 seconds). If the user does not remove their hand before the countdown ends, the hand dryer will automatically shut off to save energy. On the other hand, if the user removes their hand before the countdown ends, the hand dryer will immediately stop, catering to the user’s actual needs.
Additionally, the hand dryer offers the functionality of switching between warm air and cool air modes through a key press, catering to different seasons and usage scenarios. Users can also personalize the settings by adjusting the minimum distance and time through the key interface. Lastly, the LCD1602 display provides users with interactive information, including distance values, remaining time, and the current mode, giving intuitive feedback to users.
The significance of developing the physical product “Hand Dryer” lies in addressing the inconveniences observed in existing hand dryers and providing a more intelligent and personalized user experience. Through the intelligent control of the microcontroller, the hand dryer achieves automatic start and stop without user intervention, enhancing convenience and efficiency. The key functions like key settings and LCD display further empower users to control and understand the hand dryer independently. This design serves as a valuable reference and foundation for the further development and smartification of hand dryers.
