ABSTRACT
This paper presents the design of a multi-functional security system based on the STC89C52 microcontroller. The system integrates various sensors including flame sensor, smoke sensor, combustible gas sensor, vibration sensor, and separate infrared photoelectric beam detector to achieve real-time monitoring and alarm for fire, smoke, gas leakage, door tampering, and wall climbing in the environment. When abnormal conditions are detected, the system controls the water pump for fire extinguishing and fan for ventilation through relays while issuing audio-visual alarms to alert users. Additionally, users can set different thresholds using buttons. The system also displays relevant data and alerts on a screen. Moreover, the system incorporates wireless functionality with a GSM module to send timely SMS notifications to users during abnormal situations. This paper provides detailed descriptions of hardware design and software programming along with experimental validation of the system’s reliability and stability. The proposed security system is applicable to various locations requiring safety measures and holds promising prospects for widespread applications.
