This paper presents the design of a smart clothes drying rack based on a microcontroller. The STC89C52 microcontroller is used as the main control chip, and it is integrated with multiple sensors and modules to achieve functions such as temperature and humidity detection, drying control, timed ultraviolet (UV) disinfection, human detection, and manual control. The smart drying rack can automatically dry clothes based on the environmental humidity. The timed UV disinfection function ensures the hygiene of the clothes. The human detection module controls the up and down movement of the drying rack automatically, and it turns off the UV lamp when someone is detected to protect them from radiation.Users can perform operations such as time correction, humidity setting, UV disinfection time setting, and manual control through buttons. The LCD1602 display module shows real-time information such as time, temperature, humidity, and working mode.This design makes full use of the microcontroller’s control capabilities and various sensor modules, providing users with an intelligent clothes drying experience. With smart control, users can automate the drying and UV disinfection processes without frequent manual intervention, thereby improving efficiency and hygiene. The human detection feature enhances safety by preventing human exposure to UV radiation. Users also have the flexibility and convenience to perform manual operations and settings according to their preferences.In conclusion, the design of the microcontroller-based smart clothes drying rack offers practicality and convenience in clothes drying management, providing users with a more intelligent solution. With ongoing technological advancements and expanding application scenarios, smart clothes drying racks have promising prospects for further enhancing people’s quality of life.
