This paper presents a design of a supermarket point of sale system based on the STC89C52 microcontroller. The system utilizes various modules and sensors to enable functions such as card swiping, weighing, and checkout, while providing data display and transmission through an LCD1602 screen and Bluetooth technology. The specific functionalities of the system include:Card swiping: The RFID-RC522 module is used for card swiping operations. The system supports three different types of cards, with each card corresponding to specific products, prices, and quantities. After swiping the card, the relevant product information is displayed on the system.Weighing: The system incorporates the HX711 pressure sensor module for weighing purposes. With a fixed unit price, the system calculates the price based on the weight of the product.Function switching: Three buttons are provided to switch between different system functions, including card swiping, weighing, and checkout. Users can select the desired function mode as per their requirements. Upon successful checkout, an LED indicator signals the completion of the transaction.Anti-theft switch: Another button controls the system’s anti-theft switch. When activated, the system detects any unauthorized RFID cards and triggers a 3-second buzzer alarm.Data display: The LCD1602 screen provides real-time display of product information, prices, and other relevant data.Bluetooth transmission: The system utilizes Bluetooth technology to transmit the purchased product information to a computer for subsequent processing and management.This design offers a simple and convenient solution for supermarket point of sale operations.
