 ABSTRACT

This paper aims to design and implement an intelligent pet feeding system based on the STC89C52 microcontroller. The system integrates the DS1302 real-time clock module, weight detection module, liquid level sensor, and LCD1602 display screen, aiming to provide convenient feeding management for pet owners, achieving timed and quantified feeding, and automatically replenishing food and water when the food weight or water level is insufficient. Firstly, the background and significance of the intelligent pet feeding system are introduced, pointing out the shortcomings of existing pet feeding systems, as well as the innovation and application prospects of this system. Subsequently, the hardware design and software design of the system are elaborated in detail. The hardware part includes the microcontroller selection and peripheral circuit design, including the connection of the DS1302 clock module, the interface design of the weight detection module, the connection of the liquid level sensor, and the driving of the LCD1602 display screen. The software part includes the design of the main functional modules of the system, such as time synchronization, automatic feeding, and automatic water replenishment. During the implementation of the system, each hardware module is debugged and optimized one by one to ensure that all parts of the system work properly. At the same time, the main functions of the system are implemented through C language programming, and the stability and reliability of the system are ensured through simulation testing and actual hardware verification. Finally, the system’s performance and functions are tested and verified. The accuracy and reliability of the system are verified through running tests, and all functional modules achieve the expected results. In addition, the optimization and improvement of the system are discussed, and directions and suggestions for further improvement are proposed. This paper designs and implements an intelligent pet feeding system with timed and quantified feeding and automatic food and water replenishment functions. The system integrates various sensors and display modules, providing comprehensive feeding management services for pet owners, improving the quality of life and health of pets. Furthermore, the design ideas and methods of this paper also provide certain reference value for the development of other intelligent feeding systems.
